WHAT WORKED:
* The recap/overview of everything that has gone down leading to this point? Nice touch to remind old viewers what they’ve invested in and also serves as a neat way to hook new viewers.
* The tone of the episode was indicative of what the whole series is all about; consequences of each character’s actions are retained despite the overarching story WHILE maintaining various bits of humour. It’s just a great blend.
* Michael’s relationship with Fiona is just exciting to watch, because it progresses in such a smart manner. The chemistry between both characters is completely overwhelming.
* None of the comic relief from the first season has disappeared; Sam and Michael’s mother continue to have impeccable timing and delivery.
* The task of retrieving the files and framing the security company for the massacre shown at the beginning? Very entertaining to watch, and Michael worked very sharply with Jimmy to make sure they accomplished their goals.
* The twist revolving around Carla — the person that has information about Michael’s burn notice — at the end was a sweet treat, even if it did feel a wee bit telegraphed.
WHAT BLEW:
* Michael brushing off the reprecussions of the task Carla threw at him without much consideration was done way too quickly. It seemed like a prefunctory thing to gloss over. Minor complaint.
FINAL RATING:
9.2 OUT OF 10.
